ALL WHO SEEK TO KNOW CHRIST ARE WELCOME.
AN ACTS 2:42 CHURCH
In the Bible, we are told how the Early Church used to gather and worship God. Acts 2:42 describes how the Church in Jerusalem showed steadfast commitment to the apostles' doctrine, fellowship, the breaking of bread and prayers.

Why did the Early Church apply themselves to such things? Because Jesus is at the centre of them; and, as He is the focal point, the Church can constantly look upon Him, love Him, and be transformed by Him.

As Jesus is in the midst of His people, His love emanates out and effects the lives of all those who gather around Him and in His name.

Foothills Bible Fellowship desires to keep Christ at the centre, and as our first love.

1. In the Apostles' Doctrine, we behold Christ, as the Gospel, which God uses it to bring salvation, is declared clearly and simply.

2. In Fellowship, which is that sharing and participating in life with each other, Jesus is there, present with us, by His Spirit, because we meet in His name.

3. In the Breaking of Bread, we come to remember the great salvation given to us by Christ, and so focus on and commemorate what Jesus did for us.

4. In Prayers, we come to speak to our Heavenly Father, and are dealt with by His Spirit, as we make our requests known, and ask for Jesus to intercede for us.

These four activities are ordinary means of grace: normal methods God uses to reveal Himself to His people, and mechanisms He uses to strengthen the faith of His people.

As we come to worship God, we want to decrease, and want Jesus to increase. Acts 2:42 helps us to achieve this by guiding our worship and overall Christian life, as Jesus is kept at the centre.
